on felled trees falling

December 25, 2009

Strong winds off Lake Huron knocked down one community’s Christmas tree.

The wind blew the tree over sometime overnight at the Marina Park in St. Ignace.

It’s a tree the city puts up every year for the community to enjoy.

But the whirling wind snapped the bottom of the tree completely in half.

City workers plan to prop the tree back up with wood, or a steel clamp.

They don’t want to cut the community tradition short.
