Rem Koolhaas and the subjective

May 11, 2009

Rem Koolhaas: Through your work on Las Vegas, as well as in Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture, you’ve created a conceptual space for the possible architecture: after those books, that space—the space in which architecture could be practiced—was different. How do you think that space has been exploited?
Denise Scott Brown: What we have done has allowed many people to think differently, therefore to do things differently. Over and over, people have told us that suddenly they could be themselves—
Rem: Or they could be yourselves.
